Thermal Inkjet Printers

Thermal Inkjet (TIJ) technology provides high resolution print quality with cost-effective hardware to print on a variety of products in a wide range of markets and applications. The essential tenet of TIJ technology is practically no maintenance. Other than wiping the nozzles, there is nothing else to do to service TIJ print cartridges. Each print cartridge contains a printhead and ink supply. When the ink is used up, simply install a new cartridge. There are no pumps, valves, or other hardware to wear out or service. And with an ever-growing ink portfolio, the range of substrates that TIJ can print on is quickly expanding. From corrugated boxes to chipboard, from PVC to HDPE, from poly bags to glass, TIJ inks are changing the landscape of industrial ink jet printing.

MSSC Smart-Jet® Range of TIJ Printers

The MSSC Smart-Jet® printers feature three different TIJ technologies. The OG, the HP45 cartridge, prints 0.5 in./12.7 mm tall characters. With an ever-expanding range of inks built over 30 years, the HP45 technology is reliable, time tested, and delivers the performance needed for any industrial application. Find this technology in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and other CPG applications, in addition to lumber, concrete, building products, and other harsh industrial environments. Smart-Jet® PRO printers and printheads feature HP45 TIJ technology.

Funai TIJ technology features MEK-compatible printheads and longer throw distance than the other TIJ technologies.

IUT print technology delivers a 1”/25.4 mm tall seamless print, ideal for case and secondary packaging coding.

TIJ technology is available for inline printing (conveyor, web, or other application where the product is moving, or, in some cases, where the printer traverses the substrate or material) and handheld, where the operator provides the movement to generate the print.

Smart-Jet® Standalone Printers

The MSSC Smart-Jet® BLUE printers are self-contained printers. Simply install a cartridge in the printer and go. Access the printer operating software with the included keyboard via Bluetooth, or connect the BLUE printer to an Ethernet network. You can access multiple BLUE printers via an Ethernet switch; no additional software is needed. You can then access and control each printer independently via your preferred web browser.

Smart-Jet® Touchscreen Printers

The Smart-Jet® range of CORE and TS Print systems provide all the capabilities of a TIJ-based printer with the added benefit of a larger touchscreen for printer control and operation. Additionally, the printheads sport a smaller design footprint, so they can be mounted in a wide range of applications, including form/fill/seal machines and web-based print applications. Smart-Jet® print controllers can be added to an Ethernet network for remote access and control. Messages can be created with the web-based message creation software (www.tijfreedesign.com) and downloaded to the printer via USB or Ethernet.

Smart-Jet® Handheld Printers

MSSC’s range of handheld printers features HP45 TIJ technology, along with IUT TIJ technology. Both TIJ technologies are controlled by a simple to use interface, wrapped in an ergonomic, comfortable design for smooth, simple operation. These handheld printers have a built-in encoder to produce proper aspect characters, bar codes, logos, and other information.
